Requirements
This course is aimed at personnel who wish to gain an understanding of how SIMATIC PCS7 could be used to implement a variety of control engineering solutions. This course is based on V7.0 software and while it does provide some information for users migrating from earlier software versions, it will not act as a training course for those earlier versions.
Sound knowledge, design and practical experience of process control systems or SCADA (including PLCs) is essential. PC keyboard/mouse skills and knowledge of any Windows OS such as NT, 2000 or XP (most preferred) or Vista. Having Distributed Control System (DCS) experience is desirable but not mandatory.
ObjectivesÂ
On completion of the course the trainee should be able to modify an existing PCS7 system for a process control application. Note that PCS7 advance training followed by this training is recommended for those trainees designing and engineering a complete PCS7 project.

Upon completion of this course, the participant shall be able to:
- Deploy PCS7 hardware & software.
- Configure a typical project.
- Program using STEP7 editors like CFC charts.
- Understand and use SFC.
- Operator control and monitoring using WinCC.
- Configure multiproject.
- Downloading of project and testing using simulator.
