Selecting and picking the suitable instrument or tool for measuring a Machine part according to its accuracy.

Setting the optimum dimensions to be measured for a machine element.

Course Contents:

Measurement of external dimensions of machine elements:

• Measurements of shafts, cylinders, holes, groove, openings & prismatic parts … etc.
• Mechanical techniques.
• Optical technique.

Screw Thread Measurements:-

• Measurements of basic thread elements.
• E.G. Thread diameters, pitch, flank angle, included angle … etc
• Mechanical techniques.
• Optical techniques.

Gear Measurement:-

• Measurement of basic gear elements.
• E.G. gear diameters, tooth thickness, tooth depth, circular pitch … etc.
• Using appropriate tools & equipment.

Bearing Measurements:-

• Measurement of basic bearing elements.
• E.G. bearing diameters, height, axial clearance, radial clearance… etc
• Using appropriate tools & equipment.
